Effect of the amount of cellulose ether HPMC on the performance of mixed aggregate masonry

(2) The water retention rate increases with the increase in the amount of cellulose ether. When the proportion of cellulose ether is the same, the water retention rate of the iron tailings sand and artificial sand mixed mortar is higher than the iron tailings sand and river sand mixed mortar; under the same water retention rate, The content of cellulose ether in the mixed aggregate of iron tailings and artificial sand is slightly lower than that of the mixed aggregate of iron tailings and river sand.

(3) With the increase of the amount of cellulose ether, the apparent density of the mixed aggregate mortar gradually decreases, and the setting time gradually increases. Cellulose ether has an air-entraining and retarding effect in the masonry mortar. At the same amount of cellulose ether, the apparent density of the mixed aggregate of iron tailings sand and artificial sand is greater than that of the mixed aggregate of iron tailings sand and river sand.

(4) The strength of the mixed aggregate mortar decreases with the increase of the amount of cellulose ether; the strength of the mortar prepared by mixing iron tailings sand and artificial sand in proportion to the ratio is much higher than the strength of the mortar prepared by mixing the iron tailings sand and river sand, indicating that the iron tailings sand The low water requirement for mixing mortar with artificial sand makes the mortar hardened structure more compact.
